MTN Nigeria Plc, on Wednesday, began the trial of embedded Subscriber Identity Modules, e-SIM, services on its network, making it the first to do so in West Africa. e-SIM is basically a small chip inside the phone which does not require physical SIM cards or swapping. It enables the phone work in a similar way to the Near Field Communication, NFC, chip that is used for payment technologies. MTN said the service is based on approvals received from the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC. IPOB/ESN Storm Forest In Delta, Shoot Cows On Sight Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its militant arm, the Eastern Security Network (ESN) have reportedly stormed forests in Delta State to begin the enforcement of the government’s anti-open grazing law. SaharaReporters obtained a video where some of masked gunmen, believed to be ESN fighters, were shooting at cows reportedly wandering on farmlands. It is not clear yet in which part of Delta State the incident happened. Sources stated that the ESN fighters were also in Delta State over the threat issued through an anonymous letter written by killer herdsmen to the government.

JAMB: UTME registration closes today The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board, JAMB, has extended the registration for 2021/2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination to June 15. The extension, according to the examinations’ body, is for candidates who have not completed their registration, They are to visit special centres to finish the process. JAMB’s spokesman Fabian Benjamin, who disclosed this yesterday in a statement titled “Completion of 2021 UTME/DE registration for candidates who did not register within the stipulated time and the extension period,”  explained that the extension was for only those who could not complete their registration during the earlier scheduled registration period.
